Canon built the Auto Zoom 814 Electronic in the early 1970s, and it is still one of the Super 8 cameras people go looking for. The draw is the lens: a 7.5-60mm f/1.4 macro zoom, fast enough for low light and long enough to pull a subject in from across the street. Electronic shutter control, split-image focusing and a slow motion setting round it out. Kodak still makes Super 8 film, and labs still develop it.
