How we test
Every camera here is cleaned, inspected and tested before it's listed, and every film camera is shot with a roll of film first. This is what that means for each format. If a piece has a flaw, it's written in the listing and shown in the photos.
35mm point and shoots
Film tested. The shutter fires, the film advances and rewinds smoothly, the flash fires, and the lens is clear. Autofocus, zoom and the date back are checked on models that have them. A fresh battery goes in before it ships.
35mm SLRs
Film tested. The shutter fires, the film advances and rewinds smoothly, the light meter responds, and the lens is clear. Fresh batteries are installed.
Digital cameras
It powers on, takes photos and plays them back. The screen, zoom, flash and lens are all checked. Most listings include sample shots taken with that exact camera. Each one comes with a new battery and charger, or fresh AA batteries for AA models.
Camcorders
It powers on, records and plays back. On tape formats the heads are cleaned. The viewfinder or screen, zoom and lens are checked, and it comes with a new battery and charger. Tapes and discs are not included unless the listing says so. Need help getting your footage onto a computer? Ask, and we'll walk you through it.
Instant cameras
The shutter fires, the flash works and the lens is clear. Instax cameras come with fresh batteries. On Polaroid 600 models the autofocus and rollers are checked too, and the battery lives inside each film pack. Film is not included.
After it ships
It doesn't end at checkout. Loading film, settings, batteries, footage, or anything else, before or after it arrives: ask, and you'll hear back from us. All sales are final because these are vintage pieces, which is why everything is tested first. If something isn't right when it arrives, email customerservice@miavntg.com and we'll work it out with you.
