Released in April 1985, the T80 was Canon's first autofocus SLR. This one is paired with the classic manual-focus Canon FD 50mm f/1.8, and that pairing is what makes it such a good first SLR: the camera sets the exposure and winds the film, and you turn the focus ring until the viewfinder confirms you're sharp. It's hard to get wrong, and you learn to focus by hand on one of Canon's best-loved standard lenses.
