Canon's Sure Shot WP-1 came out in the early 1990s as a sealed, go-anywhere point and shoot: rated to about 5 meters (16 feet) of water with no housing, with a 32mm lens and autofocus inside a body made for the beach, the boat and the rain. The white shell and red grip look as good on a towel as they do in the water.
